Lagos
This project required me to select a country from a list to use as a theme for a restaurant to brand and create a packaging system for. This packaging system had to include a box, bag, cylinder, point of purchase, and a menu. For the final part of this project, I had to design an investor look book for the restaurant I created.
Lagos is a Nigerian restaurant located in the United States. To brand this restaurant, I studied many different aspects of Nigerian and African culture to create a system inspired by it. The name of the restaurant is named for Lagos, the largest city in Nigeria. The typeface used in the logo is inspired by the shapes of the wood used by Nigerians to make tribal masks and statues. The letterforms are positioned close together and at one point even overlap each other, representing the close knit families and communities that live in Nigeria. The colors utilized are known as the Pan-African colors. Each color has special meaning to the African people. Finally, the pattern I created is based on the woven textiles that have been a part of Nigerian culture for centuries.

Lookbook
This lookbook contains information that potential investors would need to know about the restaurant and the culture it’s based on. I tried to be a little experimental with this project, so I included a die cut on my cover and smaller pacing pages throughout the book that can be flipped over to reveal the remainder of an image or even a new one! I also utilized my color scheme to differentiate between the three sections of the book.
